Complimentary Bottled Water
This one requires a little attention.
Some hotels provide bottled water free of charge.
Others put bottled water in the room as a paid minibar item.
And that’s where travelers can get into trouble.
Never assume a bottle is complimentary simply because it’s sitting on the desk.
Check the room information, minibar menu, welcome letter, or hotel app.
If the bottle is complimentary, it’s generally yours to consume. If it’s a minibar charge, taking it may result in a charge to your room.
