What Does a Bad Potato Look Like?
Potatoes give you several clues when they’re no longer in good shape.
Soft or Mushy Areas
A potato that’s becoming extremely soft, wet, or mushy is a good candidate for the trash.
Especially if the softness is accompanied by a bad smell or visible decay.
Mold
Visible mold is a clear sign that the potato is deteriorating.
Don’t simply cut away a large area of mold and assume the entire potato is fine.
When in doubt, discard it.
